About Desert Dragon

Building the Kingdom’s
digital backbone.

Desert Dragon was founded to close a strategic gap: the Kingdom needed a sovereign, AI-native data center platform engineered to its regulatory, security, and energy environment. We are building it — facility by facility, certification by certification, customer by customer.

The mission

Sovereign infrastructure for the AI era.

Vision 2030 set the destination. The AI compute revolution set the timeline. Desert Dragon was built to deliver the infrastructure that takes the Kingdom from policy to platform: the data centers behind the sovereign cloud regions, the immersion-cooled GPU pods behind the AI initiatives, the carrier-neutral hubs behind the connectivity ambitions. We exist to make sure that when the Kingdom needs hyperscale-grade AI compute on its own terms, it has a domestic platform engineered to deliver it.

This is not greenfield generic colocation. It is purpose-built infrastructure for a specific moment in the Kingdom’s economic transformation, designed by a team that has done it elsewhere and is now delivering it here.

A note from the chairman

On the platform, and what it’s for.

The Kingdom is undergoing the most consequential economic transformation of any country alive today. Vision 2030 is not a brand exercise — it is a structural reorganization of how the Saudi economy creates value, and the platform underneath it has to be built before the next decade of value creation can compound on top of it.

Data infrastructure is the platform underneath every other platform. AI is the platform underneath the next economic decade. The intersection is what Desert Dragon is built to serve. We are building it Saudi-owned, on Saudi soil, to Saudi standards — operated by a bench of senior infrastructure professionals who have done this elsewhere and chosen to come here and do it here.

Capacity is being committed daily. The customers I am most excited about are the ones who will look back in five years and recognize that the decision to commit early was the decision that made everything that came after possible.

Saudi workforce commitment

A platform built by Saudi engineers.

500–700 direct Saudi jobs at full operation. 1,000–3,000 indirect jobs across construction, supply chain, and supporting industries. A nationalization commitment that runs through every layer of the operating organization, supported by training and certification partnerships with Saudi universities and technical institutes.
